Can XRP Still Rally? Pundits Stay Optimistic Despite Market Weakness
  • XRP trades near $1.05 as the crucial $1 support determines its next major move.
  • Analysts still target $5 to $17 despite weakening momentum and a sustained downtrend.
  • Five-figure forecasts rely on XRP gaining wider use in global financial settlement.

XRP’s prolonged decline has not weakened the conviction of its most bullish commentators. As of this publication, the token trades near $1.05, after falling over 70% from its July 2025 peak of $3.66.

Although the market structure remains bearish, several analysts continue defending aggressive long-term targets. Their optimism rests on historical chart formations, earlier rallies, and the belief that a broader breakout remains intact.

XRP’s $1 Support Becomes the Defining Near-Term Price Test

The psychological $1 level now defines XRP’s near-term outlook, with the token trading only slightly above this critical threshold. However, a sustained break below it could expose the next support zones near $0.85 and, subsequently, $0.70.

Beyond this immediate price level, XRP has spent nearly a year forming a consistent pattern of lower highs and lower lows. As a result, the broader chart reflects a persistent downtrend rather than a temporary correction within an otherwise rising market.

Nevertheless, some analysts maintain a more optimistic long-term outlook. According to MikybullCrypto, XRP’s monthly chart shows the price testing an Ichimoku cloud region following the latest capitulation.

Based on this structure, the analyst believes a successful retest could eventually support a recovery toward the $5 to $8 range. Even so, current momentum remains weak.

The lower momentum indicator has fallen below its midpoint and moved toward the low-40s, suggesting that buying pressure continues to fade and that sellers still retain control of the market.

Multi-Year Breakout Structure Keeps the $17 Target in Focus

Despite the weakening momentum, analyst Javon Marks continues to support a measured move target near $17. His projection is based on a multi-year technical pennant that began forming in 2017 and later produced a major breakout.

To determine the target, Marks applies the scale of XRP’s 2017 rally to the recent breakout zone. Consequently, a rise from approximately $1.05 to $17 would represent gains exceeding 1,000%.

Marks also referenced XRP’s previous advance from around $0.50 to above $3.30. According to the analyst, his strategy identified the rally before it gained broader attention across the market.

Furthermore, he estimates that another increase of roughly 1,300% remains possible. However, this outlook depends on the larger breakout structure remaining intact throughout the current decline and eventually generating another major upward move.

Five-Figure XRP Forecasts Deepen the Valuation Divide

BarriC presented a much larger outlook, arguing that the asset could eventually trade above $10,000. According to the commentator, such a move may unfold faster than many market participants expect.

Rather than developing gradually through conventional market cycles, he described the potential surge as a sudden repricing event after years of skepticism. He also argued that XRP could move beyond its identity as a retail-traded digital asset.

Instead, the market may value it as financial infrastructure if adoption expands across liquidity provision, settlement systems, and global value transfers. The available evidence, therefore, presents a sharp contrast.

XRP’s price action remains near critical support within a deep downtrend, yet prominent supporters continue promoting targets far above its current price. Their expectations remain high despite the market movement.

For now, however, the clearest test is whether $1 holds before sellers push the token toward $0.85 or $0.70.
