Coinbase is broadening its operations in Canada with a new infrastructure agreement with Webull Canada. The deal comes as more Canadians add crypto to their investment portfolios. It also underscores the increasing need for regulated platforms to bridge the gap between traditional and digital finance.

Partnership Targets Growing Demand

As part of the partnership, Coinbase will supply Webull Canada with essential crypto infrastructure and access to liquidity. As a result, Webull users will have access to crypto trading functionality powered by Coinbase’s proven technology.

Moreover, the partnership could strengthen Webull’s ability to scale its digital asset offering. The companies already work together across several international markets.

A recent Ontario Securities Commission survey found crypto ownership reached 25%, up from 10% in 2023. Significantly, that increase signals stronger interest in digital assets among Canadian investors.

Focus Shifts Toward Regulated Access

Webull selected Coinbase for its broad asset coverage, global reach, flexibility, scale, and compliance credentials. Additionally, competitive pricing influenced the infrastructure decision.

Coinbase sees such partnerships as an important route for bringing traditional financial services further onchain. However, Canadian users should recognize that crypto assets do not receive CIPF protection.

Hence, the agreement reflects a broader industry shift toward regulated crypto access. Besides expanding product choices, it could encourage more financial platforms to integrate digital assets.
