Galaxy Digital has expanded its presence in Texas through a long-term partnership with Texas Tech University that combines college athletics, digital assets, and artificial intelligence infrastructure. The 15-year agreement will rename Jones AT&T Stadium as Galaxy Stadium starting with the 2026 football season.

Reports value the deal at more than $70 million, averaging about $4.7 million annually. Besides securing stadium naming rights, Galaxy will deepen its involvement across athletics while creating new education and career opportunities linked to its growing technology operations in West Texas.

Partnership Extends Beyond Football

Galaxy will become Texas Tech’s official data center and digital assets partner under the new agreement. Additionally, the company will support athlete endorsement opportunities and marketing initiatives. Its branding will also appear during football and basketball events, alongside the university’s digital and social media platforms.

Moreover, Galaxy plans to recruit more graduates for its nearby 1.6-gigawatt Helios data center campus in Dickens County. The company has already invested billions of dollars into developing the AI and digital infrastructure facility.

Crypto Firms Increase Sports Investments

The agreement reflects a broader push by crypto and AI companies into collegiate and professional sports. Ripple recently partnered with the University of Kansas, introducing XRP branding on athletic uniforms while supporting financial education programs.

Meanwhile, AI cloud provider IREN signed a jersey patch agreement with the Golden State Warriors. Industry reports estimate that partnership exceeds $50 million per year, highlighting the growing competition among technology firms for high-profile sports sponsorships.
