Interactive Brokers has expanded its cryptocurrency services by introducing Ethereum staking for eligible clients, allowing investors to earn rewards without leaving its multi-asset trading platform. The move strengthens the brokerage’s digital asset offering as traditional financial firms explore additional ways to attract crypto investors. The company partnered with crypto infrastructure provider Zerohash to deliver the service through its Client Portal.
Ethereum Staking Expands Investment Options
Eligible clients can stake Ethereum through a dedicated dashboard, submit staking requests, and monitor pending transactions. Besides, the platform credits earned rewards as additional staked ETH, allowing holdings to compound while they remain staked.
However, investors must consider staking risks, including potential restrictions on accessing their assets. Reward amounts may also fluctuate with network conditions and other factors.
Interactive Brokers launched cryptocurrency trading in 2021 and expanded its supported assets in 2025. Consequently, staking represents another step toward integrating digital assets into conventional investment accounts.
Broker Strengthens Its Crypto Offering
Additionally, Interactive Brokers supports 20 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Solana, Cardano, and Dogecoin. Clients can also fund accounts using USDC, RLUSD, and PYUSD stablecoins.
Moreover, eligible customers can transfer supported cryptocurrencies between the platform and external wallets. These features offer investors greater flexibility when managing digital assets alongside traditional investments.
The expansion comes as established financial institutions explore crypto custody and staking services. Morgan Stanley has reportedly pursued a banking charter to support digital asset custody, trading, and staking.
