DoubleZero has expanded its institutional market-data offering by adding Kalshi’s election markets ahead of November’s US midterm elections. The move gives financial firms easier access to real-time political market data as trading activity continues to grow.
DoubleZero Edge previously focused on sports event contracts and crypto perpetual futures. However, its latest addition brings political markets into the platform’s broader data network.
Political Markets Gain Institutional Attention
Kalshi’s election contracts cover political outcomes and offer firms another way to track shifting expectations. Additionally, institutions can use the data to assess risks and adjust positions as election developments unfold.
Prediction markets gained major attention during the 2024 presidential election. Since then, Kalshi and Polymarket have recorded significant growth across political and other event-based markets. Consequently, regulators and lawmakers have increased scrutiny of the sector, particularly around sports-related contracts.
Midterm Activity Continues to Rise
Election-related trading has already surpassed levels recorded during the 2024 cycle. Reuters reported that certain congressional races attracted more than $133 million in trading by mid-August.
The expansion comes less than two months before the November 3 midterm elections. Moreover, DoubleZero expects growing political activity to increase demand for timely market information.
