OKX has attracted new investment as the crypto exchange expands deeper into payments, tokenized assets, and traditional financial markets. Circle, Ripple, Qube Research & Technologies, and Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures joined the latest financing. However, OKX did not disclose the investment amount. The deal maintains a $25 billion pre-money valuation established during an earlier investment from Intercontinental Exchange.

OKX Pushes Into Tokenized Markets

Significantly, OKX wants to develop beyond its original cryptocurrency trading business. The company now targets a wider financial ecosystem covering investing, payments, and blockchain-based assets.

Moreover, its relationship with Intercontinental Exchange strengthens that strategy. Their OKXICE venture recently filed plans for round-the-clock tokenized U.S. stock trading.

The platform plans to offer tokenized shares from 63 American companies. Additionally, stablecoins including USDC and USDT would support settlement.

However, institutional adoption could prove challenging. Macquarie believes liquidity, regulatory certainty, and sufficient market participation will determine the platform’s longer-term appeal.

Meanwhile, OKX’s newest investors connect directly with its broader financial ambitions. Circle and Ripple bring significant stablecoin and payments experience.

Furthermore, QRT offers institutions liquidity and trading capability. Standard Chartered has already enabled tokenized financial infrastructure with OKX and BlackRock.
