Data Reveals Indians Top Investors in Crypto Field
  • RootData curated the data of the top investors in the crypto field in 2022.
  • Balaji Srinivasan, former Coinbase CTO, is ranked first with 44 investments.
  • Indians hold the first two places among the lot.

According to the latest data from RootData, despite the crypto winter, some of the top angel investors poured their money into the cryptocurrency field in 2022. The data was shared by Chinese journalist Colin Wu on his Twitter account.

Details from the data revealed that the former Coinbase CTO, Balaji Srinivasan, is ranked first with 44 investments. His latest investment dates back to December 12, 2022. Second on the list is Sandeep Nailwal, who is the co-founder of Polygon. Nailwal has invested in over 37 crypto projects, and his latest investment dates back to December 1, 2022.

Third on the list is the COO of Sandbox, Sebastian Borget, with 14 investments in 2022, with the latest investment dating back to November 22, 2022. Fourth on the list is Santiago R Santos, who is an angel investor and the host of the Empire podcast. Santos has made over 14 investments in the past year, with the latest investment dating back to October 22.

A closer look at the list reveals that four out of the 10 investors are from India. Even though India doesn’t have a positive outlook on cryptocurrencies in general, investors are not lacking in terms of analyzing the potential of cryptocurrencies.

Even though 2022 proved to be a fatal year in terms of cryptocurrency market prices and a slew of other unforeseen events, many investors have seen the bear market as a potential opportunity. The numbers from RootData are an example of the interest in cryptocurrencies despite the market conditions.
