  • Ethereum sentiment reached 2.05, surpassing Bitcoin’s 0.82 and XRP’s 0.92.
  • Bitcoin and XRP sentiment turned bearish amid price declines and liquidations.
  • Ethereum’s FOMO sentiment contrasts with 10 straight days of U.S. ETF outflows.

Bitcoin and XRP have drawn more bearish than bullish social media commentary, while Ethereum has become the most positively discussed of the three cryptocurrencies, according to Santiment.

Its analysis found a bullish-to-bearish comment ratio of 2.05 for Ethereum, compared with 0.82 for Bitcoin and 0.92 for XRP. The divergence follows recent price declines and leveraged liquidations, alongside increased discussion of Ethereum staking and network upgrades.

Bitcoin and XRP Fall Below Sentiment Parity

Bitcoin recorded the weakest sentiment reading among the three assets, with a bullish-to-bearish comment ratio of 0.82, indicating that bearish commentary outweighed bullish discussion. The shift came as Bitcoin faced repeated price rejections near $87,000 before falling toward $81,000, amid broader macroeconomic pressure.

Meanwhile, leveraged bullish traders suffered $688.56 million in liquidations in a single day. XRP also recorded a bearish sentiment reading of 0.92, as its price fell more than 9% over the week and struggled to reclaim $1.40 amid liquidations of leveraged long positions. Although XRP drew relatively stronger sentiment than Bitcoin, bearish commentary still outweighed bullish discussion for both assets.

Ethereum FOMO Contrasts With ETF Outflows

Ethereum showed the opposite pattern. Its 2.05 reading indicates more than two bullish comments for every bearish one, placing the asset above Santiment’s fear-of-missing-out threshold.

Discussion focused on Ethereum’s recovery above key support, staking demand, and expectations surrounding upcoming network changes. These topics accompanied the increase in favorable comments across the monitored platforms.

However, stronger social media sentiment coincided with withdrawals from U.S. Ethereum exchange-traded funds. The funds recorded 10 consecutive trading days of outflows, contrasting with the positive tone of online discussion.

Sentiment Rankings Reverse From Earlier October

The latest comparison also reverses the trend from earlier in October. Then, Ethereum and XRP faced negative sentiment, while Bitcoin attracted stronger positive sentiment.

Overall, Santiment’s data highlights a growing divide between Ethereum’s positive social sentiment and the more bearish outlook surrounding Bitcoin and XRP. However, sentiment alone does not confirm a price reversal, particularly as Ethereum faces ETF outflows and Bitcoin and XRP remain under selling pressure. Whether these sentiment trends translate into price movements will depend on changing market conditions and renewed buying interest.
