According to Ali Dibadj, CEO of Janus Henderson Investors, cryptocurrency is an investment asset every investor should have in their portfolio as the industry becomes more established. Speaking in a Bloomberg TV program, the investment expert noted that the digital assets market is highly volatile, and people have to figure out how to position themselves.

Dibadj thinks the existing volatility is short-term. Hence, his company is thinking long-term while positioning itself on behalf of its clients. He noted that there are immutable longer-term trends, and Janus Henderson Investors, as a company, is currently thinking about some of them.

The investment expert identified the geopolitical environment as the first immutable longer-term trend and that it is much more volatile than it used to be. Hence, he believes that anyone investing in stocks and other digital assets has to consider the political environment they are investing in. By doing so, investors would know the status of their invested companies.

Secondly, Dibadj identified the ongoing demographic changes as another immutable longer-term trend. He observed population growth as one of the most significant tailwinds the world has seen for the past several decades and centuries. The investment chief projects that the population will shrink in the next ten to fifteen years, converting the tailwind into a headwind. Therefore, investors would be required to reposition their portfolios to ensure they take advantage of such changes.

On diversification, Dibadj thinks cryptocurrency is an investment every client should have in their portfolio as the crypto environment becomes more established. He explained that every investor should consider diversifying their investment, particularly in a volatile environment for now and for the longer term. However, he noted that crypto is not something his company is focused on at the moment.
