The Sandbox has recently announced a partnership with British television company ITV Studios to bring Michelin star chef Gordon Ramsay’s reality cooking show Hell’s Kitchen to the metaverse.

According to The Sandbox’s blog post, the platform will adopt the Hell’s Kitchen experience into the virtual space, with the virtual restaurant hosted on ITV’s LAND in The Sandbox. Furthermore, Ramsay will personally provide his input for the design of his virtual restaurant.

“There’s nothing more exciting to me than chartering new territory, whether that’s creating a signature dish, a new restaurant concept, a new show, or now a virtual experience in The Sandbox,” said Ramsay.

To the unfamiliar, Hell’s Kitchen is a reality cooking show created and hosted by multi-awarded chef Gordon Ramsay. While its U.K. edition ended in 2009, its U.S. edition is in its 20th season. Hopeful chefs, divided into two teams (Red and Blue), enter Hell’s Kitchen, where they compete for a cash price and the chance to work as head chef at a restaurant of Ramsay’s choosing.

Notably, the virtual Hell’s Kitchen in the decentralized universe is the first-ever cooking-themed game to launch in The Sandbox. Similar to the reality show’s format, players will create new dishes, win competitions, collect recipes, and compete with each other for a chance to become Head Chefs.

While The SandBox remains secretive about the other Hell’s Kitchen-themed digital assets players can get, the platform did mention that the collection of NFTs will include limited edition Gordon Ramsay avatars.

Last month, The Sandbox successfully migrated its smart contract on Polygon Layer 2. The blockchain gaming platform said this development will bridge its LAND and SAND tokens and make its ecosystem cheaper and greener.
