Hoskinson’s Ripple vs. SEC Settlement Date Prediction Causes Uproar
  • Cardano CEO hints at Dec 15 settlement of Ripple vs SEC Trial.
  • Eleanor Terrett of Fox Business declares, “It’s not true.”
  • The court may disclose the Hinman documents in January 2023.

Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Cardano and Input Output Global, mentioned that he has heard “rumors” that a two-year legal battle between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may reach a resolution on December 15 during a recent “Surprise AMA” on Youtube.

He said,

I’ve heard rumors that the Ripple case will be settled on December 15. And we’ll just see, and that could have catastrophic implications for the industry, one way or the other.

In response to this, Eleanor Terrett, a FOX Business reporter, tweeted, “It’s not true.” The reporter confirmed in a later tweet that there is no validity to the story, according to her sources.

Terrett has refuted claims of a Ripple settlement date with the SEC twice in the past two months. The reporter denied any speculations of a December  15 settlement date.John E. Deaton, a Pro-XRP attorney, has sided with Terrett’s opinion on the matter in a recent tweet.

Some XRP users have now turned against Hoskinson. Many users have taken to youtube and other social media platforms to assert he is ignorant of his power in the crypto market.

This September, Pro-XRP attorney Jeremy Hogan stated that a plausible timetable for settlement would stretch to the end of November.

In October, however, he narrowed the scope to November 15. Hogan conjectured that since both sides had “seen everything” from one another, a settlement outside of court now appeared implausible.

If the lawsuit is not settled, the court will disclose the sensitive Hinman documents to the public in January 2023, according to a tweet from the attorney in November.
