- David Gokhshtein links $NIGHT’s growth potential to demand for blockchain privacy.
- Matching Zcash’s 1,790% gain would lift $NIGHT from $0.04394 to approximately $0.83.
- Midnight aims to bring privacy to smart contracts through zero-knowledge proofs.
Crypto commentator David Gokhshtein has renewed his bullish outlook on Midnight’s NIGHT token, comparing its potential growth with Zcash’s rally. His argument centers on demand for financial privacy, particularly among people and businesses that want to use blockchain applications without exposing sensitive information.
In an X post, Gokhshtein said he believes $NIGHT is “going to pull a $ZEC.” However, he tied that outlook to Midnight’s ability to execute its plans, presenting the comparison as an expectation rather than an established outcome.
$NIGHT Trades Near $0.044 as Comparison Gains Attention
According to CoinMarketCap data, Midnight’s price stands at $0.044418, up by 1.25% over the past 24 hours. The trading volume reached approximately $113.71 million during that period. $NIGHT ranked 77th by market capitalization, with a valuation of about $737.67 million. Its circulating supply stood at approximately 16.61 billion tokens, against a maximum supply of 24 billion.
Those figures provide context for the price scenario accompanying Gokhshtein’s remarks. The comparison uses Zcash’s reported growth from $74 to around $1,400 over the past year, equivalent to approximately 1,790%.
Applying a 1,790% increase to $NIGHT’s earlier reference price of $0.04394 produces approximately $0.83. At a circulating supply of 16.6 billion tokens, that would imply a market capitalization near $13.78 billion.
The calculation uses a lower starting price than the latest supplied quote. It also holds the circulating supply constant and illustrates the scale of a matching percentage gain, rather than establishing a future valuation.
Gokhshtein Focuses on Privacy for Applications
Behind that numerical comparison, Gokhshtein highlighted a gap between the projects. He said Zcash built its reputation around private payments, while Midnight aims to extend privacy to smart contracts and decentralized applications.
Midnight’s approach uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify information without publicly revealing the underlying data. Gokhshtein linked that capability to concerns about financial exposure on public blockchains.

He argued that individuals and companies may resist applications that make their financial activity visible to everyone. In his assessment, addressing that concern represents an opportunity for Midnight if execution supports adoption.
Other Commentators Outline Growth Expectations
Gokhshtein’s remarks follow comments from Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, who suggested Midnight could eventually exceed Zcash and projected significant growth from 2027 onward.
Separately, analyst Dan Gambardello described Midnight as undervalued by $5 billion, comparing its valuation with Zcash and Monero. Both statements express bullish assessments of the project’s prospects, alongside Gokhshtein’s own conditional outlook.
