The blockchain scaling solution Polygon is now admitting several decentralized applications (dApps) to its platform. According to research by web3 development platform Alchemy, more than 37,000 dApps are working on Polygon, which is nearly double the number in March and a fourfold increase compared to early 2021.

To expand, some metrics such as the number of monthly active teams, the most direct measure of developer activity on the Polygon PoS chain, registered nearly 11,800 by the end of July. This measurement is really far away from that of 8,000 in March.

As shown in the data above, the cumulative number of dApps on Polygon has skyrocketed from October 2021 to June 2022. These dApps are active both on the testnet and the mainnet.

A blog post by Polygon reads that 74% of teams integrated solely on Polygon, whereas 26% relied on both Polygon and Ethereum networks. To note, a single team can have multiple dApps on the Polygain chain.

The adoption of Polygon on Alchemy led to a surge in the popularity of new decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the chain. With over 142 million unique user addresses and $5 billion in assets secured, Polygon PoS has processed more than 1.6 billion transactions to date

Essentially, the PoS consensus of Polygon acts as a center point for web3 projects such as Uniswap V3, Aave, OpenSea, and Mark Cuban’s web3- NFT platform Lazy.com. Furthermore, the Polygon team said that its ecosystem is burgeoning, letting companies such as Adobe, Meta,  Telefonica, Stripe, and Dolce Gabbana choose Polygon as their hub to web3.
