  • Trump Media sent 4,259 BTC worth about $343.67 million to a Crypto.com-linked address.
  • The amount almost exactly matches the 4,260.73 BTC the company pledged as collateral.
  • Noteholders can demand cash repayment on November 30, and no sale has been confirmed.

Trump Media and Technology Group moved roughly 4,259 BTC, worth about $343.67 million, to a Crypto.com-linked address on November 5.

The transfer came one day after Democrats said they plan to investigate Trump’s crypto businesses, and less than four weeks before a $1 billion debt deadline. Blockchain data confirms the move. Nothing so far confirms a sale.

Arkham and Lookonchain tracked two transactions of 2,140.03 BTC and 2,119.31 BTC. Both came from wallets Arkham labels “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral.”

In its June 30 quarterly filing, Trump Media said 4,260.73 BTC was pledged as collateral for its convertible notes. This week’s transfer is about 1.38 BTC short of that figure.

The company reported holding around 14,139 BTC as of July 31, so the coins it moved come to roughly 30% of that stash. Sending coins to an exchange-linked wallet does not mean the company has given up ownership.

Why This Bitcoin Transfer Has BTC Traders Watching

The near-exact match with the collateral balance is interesting. The same filing said the company could not withdraw or distribute that Bitcoin under the note indenture.

The timing adds to the concern. Noteholders can demand cash repayment on November 30, 2026, and Trump Media has warned it may need to sell Bitcoin or other digital assets if refinancing falls short. That gives this whale transfer a clear possible motive.

Past transfers suggest waiting before drawing conclusions. In May 2026, company wallets sent about 2,650 Bitcoin to Crypto.com. Following that, another 2,628 BTC was sent in August. Both times, Trump Media said the coins were moved for trading strategy or custody and had not been sold.

Did Trump Media Just Set Up a Major BTC Sell-Off?

Three outcomes look plausible. The first is a routine custody transfer with no sale behind it. In the second, the company is positioning it as collateral ahead of the repayment window.

In the third, it sells part or all of the 4,259 BTC to raise cash. That would add real supply to the market, and the price impact would depend on how any sale is carried out.

The evidence so far fits only the first two. The blockchain shows coins arriving at Crypto.com. It does not show them being swapped for dollars or stablecoins

The timing of the move raises the stakes. After the midterms, House Democrats are lining up scrutiny of Trump-linked crypto ventures, including World Liberty Financial. No evidence ties that probe to this transfer.

For Bitcoin holders, the date to watch is November 30. If Trump Media files an update or confirms a sale before then, the sell-off question will get a real answer. For now, the only confirmed fact is a $343 million deposit.
