- US CPI and Core CPI arrive Oct. 14, PPI on Oct. 15, and a Fed Chair speech on Oct. 16.
- Forex Factory forecasts US headline inflation at 3.6%, up from 3.4%, with core CPI at 2.5%.
- US inflation, Fed remarks, and USD/INR moves could influence Bitcoin prices for Indian traders.
Global financial markets face a critical test this week as key US economic data releases, including the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI), coincide with a closely watched speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.
For Indian Bitcoin (BTC) traders, the results could influence Fed rate expectations, the US dollar, and USD/INR movements, shaping Bitcoin prices and volatility in the Indian market depending on whether the data print above, below, or in line with forecasts.
US CPI and Core CPI
On October 14 at 6:00 PM IST, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will release its September CPI report. Forex Factory and consensus forecasts currently point to headline CPI rising to 3.6% year-over-year (YoY), from 3.4% previously, and core CPI, excluding food and energy, at 2.5% YoY, from 2.4%.
Meanwhile, month-over-month (MoM) core CPI is expected at 0.2%, cooling from 0.3% in August. This will be a key inflation release for traders assessing the Federal Reserve’s next interest-rate decision, ahead of the FOMC’s pre-meeting blackout period, which is scheduled to begin in late October.

US PPI, Core PPI and Retail Sales
Thursday brings the PPI, Core PPI, and Retail Sales data at the same time, 6:00 PM IST. PPI is a measure of wholesale inflation and is frequently one of the first indicators of future consumer inflation.
Forex Factory forecasts PPI at 0.5% MoM, compared with 0.4% previously, and Core PPI at 0.3%. Headline Retail Sales are forecast at 0.3% MoM, down from 1.2%, while Core Retail Sales are expected at 0.5%.
A stronger-than-expected PPI or Core PPI could fuel inflation stickiness worries, while robust retail spending could firm up Fed tightening bets. Weaker figures could ease those concerns. Combined with the previous day’s CPI, these releases will shape near-term Fed rate expectations.
Higher rate expectations and a stronger dollar have a negative impact on BTC-USD, and a weaker dollar and data could lift a relief rally. For Indian traders, USD/INR movements will further influence local BTC prices.
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s Speech
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is scheduled to speak on Friday at 9 AM IST. Markets will watch his comments for clues about the inflation outlook and the impact of September’s rate hike. Hawkish comments that stress persistent inflation or the need for further tightening could strengthen the US dollar and push Treasury yields higher, putting pressure on Bitcoin.
More balanced or data-dependent comments may ease rate concerns and boost risk appetite. For Indian Bitcoin traders, movements in the dollar and USD/INR will also matter when assessing potential changes in BTC-INR prices.

How USD/INR Movements Could Affect Bitcoin Prices in India
For Indian crypto investors, Bitcoin prices depend on both BTC-USD and the USD/INR exchange rate. The RBI’s reference rate showed the dollar falling from ₹96.6149 on October 9 to ₹95.7485 on October 12, 2026, indicating a stronger rupee.
The move followed RBI action to curb dollar demand, including a special supply window for state-owned oil firms and tighter forex regulations. A weak rupee may boost the price of BTC-INR, and a strong rupee may restrict profits even when global BTC prices surge.
What Should Indian BTC Traders Watch This Week?
Indian BTC traders should watch five key indicators this week: US CPI and PPI data, Treasury yields, the US Dollar Index (DXY), USD/INR, and BTC volatility. Inflation figures released Wednesday and Thursday could shift Federal Reserve rate expectations and move global BTC prices.
Rising Treasury yields and a stronger dollar may pressure Bitcoin, while rupee movements can amplify or soften changes in BTC-INR prices. Traders should also watch the Warsh speech on Friday, manage their position sizes, and avoid over leverage on major events in the market.
