The XRP Ledger’s Batch V1.1 upgrade reached 29 validator votes in favor Tuesday, moving closer to its planned Sept. 29 activation. Known as XLS-56, the amendment would allow multiple transactions to be processed within a single ledger update.
The upgrade would let users group up to eight transactions into one operation. If one transaction fails, the entire group would be reversed, ensuring related transactions either complete together or fail together.
Batch Upgrade Expands Transaction Options
Batch V1.1 could support atomic swaps, cross-asset trades, NFT exchanges and bundled decentralized-exchange transactions. It would also allow platforms to collect fees within the same transaction.

Developers rebuilt the feature after researchers identified a signature-validation flaw in February. The earlier Batch V1.0 was never activated on the XRP Ledger’s mainnet, so the vulnerability did not result in funds being moved.
XRP Ledger Prepares for Activation
Ripple included the corrected Batch implementation in xrpld version 3.3.0. Validators must maintain sufficient support for the amendment before it can activate on the network.
Ripple has also recommended withdrawing the XChainBridge amendment and a related fix. The Batch V1.1 upgrade follows months of development focused on resolving security issues and preparing the feature for activation.
