  • Data shows a big spike in speculative interest in XRP perpetual futures on Binance.
  • XRP derivatives metrics rose sharply, with imbalance at 0.54 and Z-Score near 0.95.

XRP traders are on the lookout for a possible short‑term bounce, and the first notable signal came from crypto analyst Ali Martinez, who pointed out that XRP has triggered a TD Sequential buy signal on the 4-hour timeframe.

Ali posted on X that XRP might bounce back to around $1.35 before any larger downtrend resumes.

The TD Sequential indicator, created by analyst Tom DeMark, helps traders spot when a trend might be running out of steam. A “buy” signal often shows up after an extended bearish move, hinting that sellers may be getting exhausted, and a short‑term bounce or relief rally could be next.

Rise of Speculative Interest in XRP

At the same time, CryptoQuant analyst Arab Chain identified rising speculative momentum in XRP derivatives activity on Binance.

The report says XRP’s volume imbalance indicator climbed to about 0.54, while its Z-Score approached 0.95, signaling perpetual futures activity has risen notably above recent average levels.

The volume imbalance metric basically tracks whether perpetual futures trading activity is getting unusually high compared to spot trading and prior averages. On the other hand, the Z‑Score shows how much current activity is straying from normal market conditions. A score near 1 means momentum and speculation are picking up significantly compared to typical levels.

This gap tends to attract traders’ attention because it usually points to one of two scenarios: either leveraged traders are getting ready for a breakout, or too much leverage is piling up without enough spot demand to back it, raising the risk of liquidations.

As for XRP itself, the community recently welcomed the big XRP Ledger upgrade to 3.1.3, which brought fixes for NFTs, vault systems, lending infrastructure, and permissioned domains.
