- A 4chan post predicted Bitcoin’s October 6, 2025 peak, when BTC topped $126,000.
- The same pattern now points to October 5, 2026, as the potential market-bottom date.
- Skeptics warn that the pattern uses only two Bitcoin cycles and may be coincidental.
An anonymous Bitcoin prediction from a December 2023 4chan post that called Bitcoin’s cycle peak to the day is now being used to argue for a market bottom this week. Bitcoin trades near $85,100, about 30% below its record of roughly $126,000.
How the Pattern Works
The post, using the handle SBC7H7La, counted the gaps between past Bitcoin lows and highs:
- 2015 low to 2017 high: 1,064 days
- 2017 high to 2018 low: 364 days
- 2018 low to 2021 high: 1,064 days
- 2021 high to 2022 low: 364 days
Projecting the same rhythm forward puts the next peak on October 6, 2025. Bitcoin reached about $126,000 that day. Adding another 364 days lands on October 5, 2026, and a further 1,064 days points to September 3, 2029, for the next peak.
What Traders Are Saying
- Veteran trader Peter Brandt said in July that the low would come around October 4.
- One bullish trader sees a bull flag breakout and expects a squeeze above the yearly open before a 20% to 22% correction. A 20% pullback from the recent high would land near $69,900.
- Skeptics argue that one correct date does not make this one the low, and that bottoms are only identified in hindsight.
Where the Pattern Strains
Bitcoin fell to about $58,000 in July, around 52% below its late-June peak, a drop milder than the 80% declines of past bear markets. The price has since recovered roughly 48%. A date-based bottom this week would therefore require another sharp decline, making it more likely the low is already behind the market, and the date a coincidence. The model also rests on four intervals across two cycles, a small sample for any forecast.
Bolder Claims Remain Unverified
Separate posts attribute further calls to the same anonymous poster, including Bitcoin at $250,000 to $260,000 in 2026, Ether at $150,000, and Solana at $1,000. However, it is not confirmed that 4chan has made these predictions. A $250,000 Bitcoin would require nearly tripling from current levels in under three months.
For now, the date remains a speculative signal, with traders divided over whether the pattern has predictive value.
