  • Bitget raised maximum leverage to 1:2,000 across 21 forex CFD pairs from November 1, 2026.
  • The new tiered margin system increases margin requirements as trading exposure grows.
  • The update covers major forex pairs, including EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD, and AUD/USD.

Bitget has increased maximum leverage to 1:2,000 on 21 forex CFD pairs, allowing traders to open larger positions with less initial margin.

Effective November 1, 2026, the update covers major currency pairs such as EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD, and AUD/USD. It also introduces a tiered margin system, meaning traders must provide more margin as their position sizes increase.

How the New Margin Structure Works

The first 50,000 USDT in trading exposure requires a margin rate of 0.05%, equivalent to 1:2,000 leverage. As positions grow, higher margin rates apply to the additional exposure in each tier, not the entire position.

This means traders can access the highest leverage on smaller positions but need more capital to maintain larger ones.

Bitget says the change gives traders more flexibility in managing their funds while trading currency movements driven by interest rates, economic data, and market conditions. The exchange also warned that leverage limits may be temporarily reduced during major economic announcements.

The 21 supported forex pairs include currencies involving the euro, British pound, U.S. dollar, Japanese yen, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, and Swiss franc.

Bitget Expands Its Traditional Finance Services

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the new leverage options give forex traders more flexibility when trading around interest rate decisions and economic news.

She explained that the amount of money tied up in one trade affects how much capital traders have available for other opportunities. The new leverage options and tiered margin system are designed to help traders manage their funds more easily.

Through its Universal Exchange (UEX), Bitget allows users to trade traditional assets such as gold, forex, and stock indices alongside cryptocurrencies.

The exchange has also introduced CFD sub-accounts, Open API access, and a Demo Account to give traders more tools and trading options. These changes are part of Bitget’s plan to bring traditional financial markets and cryptocurrency trading together on one platform.

Bitget says it serves more than 125 million users worldwide. Its platform offers access to over 2 million crypto tokens, more than 500 tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities, forex, and precious metals.

The exchange is expanding beyond cryptocurrency trading to attract users who want to trade both traditional financial assets and digital currencies on the same platform.
