- Bitget upgrades BGBTC with new Bitcoin yield features and daily BTC rewards.
- Chainlink CCIP powers BGBTC’s secure cross-chain expansion and transparency.
- Gauntlet joins as BGBTC’s first curator to strengthen risk management and oversight
Bitget has upgraded its Bitcoin yield product, BGBTC, with new features that help users earn rewards and maintain access to their Bitcoin. The exchange has also adopted Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as BGBTC’s official cross-chain technology to expand its Bitcoin yield ecosystem.
The update introduces daily Bitcoin rewards, faster processing for large withdrawals, stronger risk management measures, and greater transparency, making it easier for users to earn yield without locking up their Bitcoin.
Bitget Aims to Help Bitcoin Holders Earn More
Bitget said the BGBTC upgrade is for Bitcoin holders who want to earn rewards without giving up control of their BTC.
Previously, investors often had to choose between holding Bitcoin or moving it to other platforms to generate yield, which could limit access to their funds or introduce additional risks.
With the upgraded BGBTC, users can earn daily Bitcoin rewards while still using their BTC for other purposes.
BGBTC is fully backed 1:1 by Bitcoin and can also be used as collateral for loans and futures trading, as well as for participation in Bitget’s Launchpool and PoolX programs.
“Bitcoin has become one of the world’s most important financial assets, but much of it still sits idle,” said Bitget CEO Gracy Chen. “The next stage isn’t simply holding Bitcoin; it’s making it productive.”
Chainlink Powers BGBTC’s Cross-chain Expansion
As part of the upgrade, Bitget has adopted Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as the official cross-chain technology for BGBTC.
The integration builds on Bitget’s existing use of Chainlink’s Proof of Reserve, allowing BGBTC to move securely across different blockchains while improving interoperability between networks.
By combining cross-chain technology with proof-of-reserve verification, Bitget aims to make BGBTC more secure and transparent as it expands to additional blockchain networks.
Gauntlet to Oversee Risk Management
The upgraded BGBTC also introduces Bitget’s new Curator framework, which adds independent oversight to its yield strategies.
Gauntlet, a risk management firm specializing in decentralized finance (DeFi), will serve as the first curator. Its role will be to monitor investment strategies and manage risks while keeping oversight separate from the custody of users’ assets.
Bitget said the framework adds an institutional-level layer of governance designed to strengthen risk management and support sustainable yield generation.
Part of Bitget’s Bitcoin Yield Strategy
Bitget said the BGBTC upgrade is part of its broader plan to help users unlock more value from their digital assets. Following products such as USDGO Holderyield, the exchange is building an ecosystem where users can earn returns on their crypto holdings while continuing to use them for trading, lending, and other financial services.
Through partnerships with companies such as Chainlink and Morph, Bitget aims to connect traditional and decentralized finance while expanding the Bitcoin yield ecosystem.
Bitget said the future of Bitcoin is moving beyond simply holding BTC, as more users look for ways to earn returns while keeping their assets liquid, secure, and accessible.
