Ripple President Monica Long said tokenized assets are likely to move to public blockchains, highlighting the XRP Ledger’s role as institutional adoption expands.
Hussein Zangana, known as Vet, shared the discussion on X after Long and acting CFTC Chair Caroline D. Pham discussed the next phase of asset tokenization during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul. Asked whether most tokenized volume would eventually use private or public networks, Long answered, “public.”
XRPL Adds Institutional Features
Long also pointed to new features designed to address institutional requirements on the XRP Ledger. Confidential Transfer, known as XLS-96, is designed to add privacy for Multi-Purpose Tokens, while Permission Delegation will allow accounts to delegate specific permissions.

Tokenization Activity Expands
Tokenization activity on XRPL is also expanding. Aviva Investors has launched a tokenized U.S. Dollar Liquidity Fund share class on the network.
Other trials have involved tokenized Treasury assets with JPMorgan, Mastercard and Ondo Finance, adding to the growing number of institutional experiments with blockchain-based financial assets.
Permission Delegation and Batch are also expected to launch soon. Long is scheduled to headline an XRP event in Seoul on October 3 alongside other Ripple executives.
