Solana-based stablecoins are moving deeper into global travel as Nomadz now lets users book flights across more than 300 airlines. The expansion connects crypto payments with conventional airline reservations without requiring carriers to accept digital assets directly.
The travel platform already offers more than 1 million accommodation options. Additionally, it now adds flight bookings to its existing crypto-focused services.
Solana Payments Enter Air Travel
Nomadz processes travelers’ stablecoin payments before arranging standard airline reservations through its platform. Users can therefore spend Solana-based digital dollars while airlines continue receiving conventional booking payments. The platform primarily relies on USDC for settlement and Solana Pay for payment processing.
Moreover, Nomadz supports an on-chain travel identity system alongside its booking services. The company also offers zero flight booking fees during the first 30 days following the launch.
Competition Builds Across Crypto Travel
The move follows Cryptorefills’ recent expansion into Solana’s mobile ecosystem. Since September 15, its application has supported SOL and USDC payments for flights across 300 airlines. It also provides access to more than 1 million hotels and short-term stays.
However, Emirates has taken a different approach by accepting Crypto.com Pay directly during checkout. The airline introduced that option in July. Consequently, Solana’s travel footprint is expanding through both intermediaries and direct airline payment integrations.
