  • EUR/USD targets 1.17115 after testing key support at 1.15623–1.15509.
  • Dollar weakness and improving liquidity could create a stronger backdrop for Bitcoin.
  • DXY, Treasury yields, equities and BTC need to confirm the broader risk-on trend.

EUR/USD is showing a signal that points to a decline toward 1.15623–1.15509 before a recovery toward 1.17115. If EUR/USD rises, it means the U.S. dollar is weakening against the euro. When this happens alongside stronger risk appetite, it creates a more supportive environment for assets like Bitcoin.

What is EUR/USD signaling?

The four-hour EUR/USD chart shows the pair trading around 1.15978 after falling below the 1.1640–1.1650 area. The key support levels are 1.15623 and 1.15509. If EUR/USD holds above these levels, the chart points to a recovery toward 1.17115, close to its recent highs.

In simple terms, the chart points to a short-term drop before another move higher.

A rise to 1.17115 would represent about a 1% gain from the current level. It would also signal that the euro is strengthening against the U.S. dollar despite changing expectations around interest rates.

Recent forecasts support this outlook. A Reuters poll found that strategists expect EUR/USD to reach about 1.16 in three months, 1.17 in six months and 1.18 in one year.

How does a stronger euro mean a weaker U.S. dollar?

EUR/USD shows how many U.S. dollars are needed to buy one euro. When the pair rises, the euro strengthens and the dollar weakens.

Because the euro carries a large weighting in the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), sustained EUR/USD gains can put downward pressure on DXY.

The dollar is also heavily influenced by Federal Reserve interest-rate decisions. Recent U.S. inflation data has made the outlook less clear. August inflation rose 3.4% from a year earlier, while core inflation rose 2.4%. This has led markets to price in the possibility of another Fed rate hike.

Why does a weaker dollar matter for riskier assets?

A weaker dollar can ease global financial conditions and encourage capital to flow into higher-return assets such as equities, commodities and cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin has historically maintained a negative relationship with DXY, although that link has weakened in the current cycle. VanEck also identifies global liquidity as an increasingly important Bitcoin driver.

As a result, rising EUR/USD becomes more relevant for Bitcoin when it reflects broader dollar weakness and improving global liquidity.

Can a risk-on environment benefit Bitcoin?

Yes. Bitcoin is increasingly influenced by interest rates, liquidity, and investor sentiment. A weaker dollar, lower Treasury yields and rising stocks would provide stronger evidence of a risk-on environment than a rising EUR/USD alone.

Meanwhile, U.S. stocks rose after the latest inflation report, while Treasury yields moved around and the dollar stayed relatively stable.

In short, EUR/USD alone is not enough to trigger a sustained Bitcoin rally. Bitcoin therefore needs broader market support to establish a lasting bullish trend. EUR/USD alone is not enough.

What should investors watch next?

The key EUR/USD support zone is 1.15623–1.15509. Holding this area keeps the recovery toward 1.17115 in play, while a sustained move higher would strengthen the case for euro strength and dollar weakness.

For Bitcoin, investors should watch for:

  • EUR/USD rising
  • DXY falling
  • Treasury yields stabilizing or declining
  • Equities holding their gains
  • BTC reclaiming key technical levels

Until these signals align, EUR/USD remains a macro indicator, not a direct Bitcoin signal.
