To advance its global compliance strategy, KuCoin has discontinued all services for users in Russia and Belarus, effective immediately. In an official notice, the exchange said the decision covers access to all KuCoin products, services, and features in both countries.

The decision underscores KuCoin’s commitment to regulatory compliance and responsible business practices across its global operations.

Notably, the exchange acknowledged that the decision could inconvenience affected users but said it would facilitate an orderly termination process. This will allow eligible users to close their positions and withdraw their assets before the applicable deadlines.

KuCoin Outlines Account Closure and Withdrawal Process

The exchange said affected users would receive notifications containing relevant deadlines and instructions for closing their accounts and withdrawing their assets.

Users who have not received a notification do not need to take any action at this stage. However, their accounts remain subject to KuCoin’s Terms of Use and applicable restrictions.

KuCoin has not specified a public timeline for completing the termination process in the notice. Affected users are therefore advised to monitor official announcements and account notifications for further details on closure procedures and withdrawal arrangements.

Exchange Warns Users Against Phishing Attempts

KuCoin also urged users to remain vigilant against phishing attempts during the transition. It advised customers to communicate only through official KuCoin channels and directed users with questions about their account status to its customer support team.

The exchange said its support team would remain available to assist affected users. The announcement did not provide further details about the specific legal or regulatory requirements behind the decision. KuCoin reiterated that compliance remains fundamental to its operations as it implements the service discontinuation in Russia and Belarus.
