Controversial entrepreneur Martin Shkreli, also known as ‘Pharma Bro’, appeared on the YouTube channel Unchained podcast hosted by Journalist Laura Shin, to voice his opinion about the trial of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and how it will pan out.

In the interview, Martin Shkreli, a former convicted pharmaceutical entrepreneur, said that U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan is a fine fit for disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried’s trial. The convicted investor also said that Bankman-Fried’s legal team may have an advantage because of Kaplan’s attention to detail despite the fact that “he has a bad temper and is not known for tolerating idiots.”

The pharmaceutical associate claimed that Bankman-Fried may expect to live for around 20 years if he plays his cards well. “I think he could be looking at 20 or less, possibly,” said Shkreli.

Most crucially, the host asked Shkreli whether Sam could run a business from prison and how convicts use crypto while behind bars. Shikreli responded by sharing his own prison experience, describing how corrupt guards and inmates were able to learn about crypto and conduct transactions using it.

In the crypto investor and entrepreneur’s opinion, “Some prisons know they have a contraband cell phone problems, and don’t really care. They think its kind of inhumane not to let people go on the internet. And some prisons dont accept it, zero tolerance.”

According to Shkreli, contraband cell phones are widely used in these recreational facilities. He further mentioned regarding Sam Bankman-Fried:

If you’re Sam, and you want to stay in touch, you could definitely transact a bit, trade crypto theoretically from inside jail, you could retrofit your cell into a crypto trading center, and include your bunkmates into action because they’re all looking to make money.

Shkreli hinted that there are ways to survive in prison and that “there are ways to go on the internet in prison”. He assuredly hinted at Sam Bankman-Fried, that “its not the of the world”.
