Prediction markets are becoming easier to access as they move beyond standalone platforms and into financial apps that people already use.
KuCoin’s planned Predictions feature is one example. Eligible users will be able to access supported markets provided by Polymarket via KuCoin Web3 within the KuCoin App. It provides users with another way to access markets provided by Polymarket.
This could make prediction markets easier to discover, especially for people who already use KuCoin to manage digital assets.
From Asset Prices to Event Outcomes
Crypto markets focus mainly on the prices of assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Prediction markets work differently. Instead of trading an asset, users take positions based on the possible outcome of an event.
For example, a prediction market might ask whether a certain event will happen by a specific date. Prediction markets can cover topics such as crypto, sports, politics, and other events, depending on what is available.
The prices in these markets can be viewed as market-based estimates of the likelihood of an outcome. However, they are not guarantees or official forecasts.
For example, if a prediction market indicates a 60% probability for an outcome, that figure represents the market’s current implied probability based on trading activity. It is not a guarantee or official forecast, and the actual outcome may differ.
These prices can change quickly when new information appears. News, political developments, sports announcements, or changes in market sentiment can all affect buying and selling activity.
Why Access and Distribution Matter
The growth of prediction markets is not only about how many markets exist. It is also about how easily people can find them. A standalone prediction-market platform requires users to know about the platform, visit it, and learn how it works.
Putting prediction markets inside an existing financial app can make them easier to discover and access. Users can explore a new type of market without having to find and learn a separate platform.
This is where KuCoin’s planned Predictions feature comes in.
Eligible users will be able to find Predictions under Markets → Predictions in the KuCoin App.
Access requires KuCoin App version 5.0.0 or later, completed identity verification, and meeting the relevant account and regional requirements. Users will then be able to browse supported Polymarket markets available in their region.
Not everyone will see the same markets. Availability and features can vary depending on location and eligibility.
KuCoin Becomes the Access Point
The planned feature connects prediction markets with KuCoin’s existing financial ecosystem. Users will access supported markets provided by Polymarket within the KuCoin App.
The first release supports funding with USDT held in the Funding Account, trading account or financial account. Users can also view relevant orders, positions, and trading history. Settlement information and related records can be viewed after a market’s result has been finalized.
These features make the experience more connected for people who already use KuCoin for their digital-asset activity.
Seeing a market inside a familiar financial app does not change those rules.
A New Way to Follow Information
Prediction markets can offer another way to follow major events. Crypto users already watch news, economic data, elections, regulatory decisions, sports, and other developments that can affect market sentiment.
Prediction markets allow users to see how participants are pricing the possible outcomes of those events. This can provide useful information about market sentiment, but it should not be treated as certainty.
Markets can be wrong. Prices can move quickly, and liquidity can vary. A market-based probability is better understood as a snapshot of what participants believe or are willing to trade at a particular moment.
Financial Apps Are Becoming Discovery Platforms
KuCoin’s planned integration reflects a broader change in financial apps. These platforms are no longer competing only on the assets and trading products they offer. They are also becoming places where users discover different types of financial information and markets.
Prediction markets fit into this trend because they combine information with trading. A user checking Bitcoin, for example, could also discover markets connected to politics, sports, or major events. Someone following an important event could encounter a prediction market while using the same app to manage digital assets.
This doesn’t guarantee more participation, but it makes prediction markets easier to discover.
What It Means for Users
For eligible KuCoin users, the main benefit is convenience. They will be able to access supported Polymarket markets within the KuCoin App and view related positions, orders, and trading history in a familiar environment.
However, convenience does not remove the need to understand the risks. A market-based probability is not a guaranteed outcome.
KuCoin’s planned Predictions feature builds on this structure by bringing access to these markets into an existing financial workflow while keeping the underlying markets separate.
As prediction markets grow, the user experience may become just as important as the markets themselves. The key question will not only be which markets exist, but also how easily users can discover, understand, and access them.
