  • The top 3 CoinGecko’s global trending cryptocurrencies are Power Protocol, Pons, and Zcash.
  • In the past 24 hours, POWER surged 37.0%, PONS rose 7.3%, ZEC fell 0.1%, ARB fell 4.6% and ZCAT gained 1.8%.
  • The key question is whether today’s search activity signals real momentum, selling pressure or speculation.

CoinGecko’s September 15, 2026 Top Trending Cryptocurrencies data shows a sharp split in crypto attention.

Power Protocol (POWER), Pons (PONS) and Zcash (ZEC) are the top three trending cryptocurrencies, with PONS rebounding 15.4%, Arbitrum (ARB) falling 4.6% and Anonymous Cat (ZCAT) gaining 1.8%. But for crypto traders, the big question is whether this search activity reflects true momentum or increased selling pressure or short term speculation.

Currently, PONS is one of the most trending cryptocurrencies by search volume over the past three hours, after a sharp rebound of 15.4 — 16.2% lifted the token to its current price of around $0.629 — $0.631. However, this rally comes after a sharp drop from its all-time high of $0.971 on September 5, with this token still about 35% below its all-time high and reflecting a volatile week after earlier gains.

The renewed attention stems primarily from Pons’ position as the dominant non-custodial memecoin launchpad on Robinhood Chain, substantial fees, buybacks and burns, expanded exchange listings and Uniswap Labs’ reported stake. Rising activity on Robinhood Chain, driven by Pons launches and trading, has further bolstered the narrative of real ecosystem usage.

For the rebound to continue, these on-chain fundamentals must sustain demand beyond short-term speculation. To differentiate between true demand and hype that stems from temporary search and momentum, traders can use indicators such as launch pad volume, fee generation, deflationary tokenomics, trading volume, and Robinhood Chain market share.

Why Is ARB Falling Ahead of the Upcoming Token Unlock?

At press time, ARB token traded around $0.133, with a 2.7–4.6% decline in the last 24 hours and 23% in the past seven days. This downturn has occurred amidst ongoing positive developments within the Arbitrum ecosystem. The immediate risk factors are the token unlock, which is planned for or around September 16, 2026.

Around 92.6 million ARB, 0.93% of the total supply and approximately 1.4–1.6% of the circulating supply, is slated to become accessible in circulation, valued at around $12–13 million at current prices. Under the original vesting schedule, the majority is allocated to team, advisors and investors.

In many cases markets price for potential selling pressure prior to such events, particularly when the recipients are not the broader community or the DAO treasury. While ongoing ecosystem growth creates a more positive longer-term trading environment, ongoing price action could be affected by ongoing supply release, high volatility, and general market conditions.

Is ZCAT’s Renewed Attention Driven by Liquidity, Adoption or Memecoin Speculation?

ZCAT, a Solana-based memecoin, is drawing in renewed search interest as it rallies slightly by about 1.8%, trading in the $0.10–$0.12 range. The token has a 24-hour trading volume of $8–$11 million, with about 24,500 holders and has relatively low on-chain liquidity in the low millions of major pools. This leaves ZCAT exposed to sharp price swings.

Meanwhile, ZCAT’s core appeal is its built-in 3% transfer tax, which automatically converts fees into ZEC and airdrops it to eligible holders, typically those holding at least about $20 worth of ZCAT, with no claiming required. The reward mechanism has strengthened ZCAT’s appeal, but its renewed attention appears driven more by memecoin speculation than deep liquidity or genuine adoption, making ZCAT a high-risk speculative vehicle.

What Does Bitcoin’s Low Ranking Mean? What Should Traders Watch Across PONS, ARB and ZCAT?

Bitcoin’s (BTC) low search ranking on CoinGecko’s trending search list does not indicate that traders are giving up on BTC. The ranking reflects search activity over recent hours; thus, smaller tokens with larger percentage moves can create more search interest.

Traders should therefore closely monitor PONS launchpad fees, buybacks, trading volume, selling pressure due to the ZCAT ARB token unlock on September 16, volume, liquidity, and ZEC reward distributions in order to determine whether the momentum is real or the result of a search-driven hype.
