- TRUMP fell 17%, MELANIA nearly 13%, and WLFI over 7% after Democrats won Congress.
- Bitcoin gained over 4% and Ethereum 6%, diverging from losses in political tokens.
- TRUMP broke below $1.365 support, while WLFI slipped below $0.0506 on the charts.
Trump-linked cryptocurrencies fell sharply after Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress, even as Bitcoin and Ethereum advanced. TRUMP dropped 17%, MELANIA lost nearly 13%, and WLFI declined more than 7%. In contrast, Bitcoin gained over 4% while Ether climbed 6%, widening the gap between politically connected tokens and the broader market.
Election Results Deepen Pressure on Trump-Linked Tokens
The selloff unfolded as investors assessed the midterm results’ implications for Trump family crypto ventures. With Democrats taking both chambers from Republicans, those businesses could face greater scrutiny, while negotiations over the stalled CLARITY Act may become more difficult.
The latest decline adds to the losses Trump-linked tokens have accumulated since their peaks. TRUMP is now about 98% below its January 2025 high, while MELANIA has fallen 99.5% from its peak. WLFI is also down 86%. Across political memecoins, combined market capitalization dropped more than 16% to $477 million.
However, falling token values alongside gains in Bitcoin and Ethereum do not establish that investors moved funds directly between them. Cap CEO Benjamin Sarquis Peillard said political tokens may be especially sensitive to changing expectations in Washington.
TRUMP, MELANIA, and WLFI Break Key Support Zones
From a technical perspective, TradingView’s weekly TRUMP chart showed a slide toward $1.26, below its former support-resistance band of $1.365–$1.503. That band now becomes the first recovery test. Higher resistance sits at $1.778 and $2.282, while the chart marks an all-time low around $1.219.

Moreover, TRUMP trades below its 20-week simple moving average near $1.809 and 50-week average around $2.849. Both averages remain overhead, reinforcing the weak weekly structure. MELANIA’s daily chart showed a similar pattern as its price hovered around $0.0635, below its previous $0.0658–$0.0704 support area, which now acts as resistance.

A recovery would then encounter hurdles at $0.0765–$0.0801 and $0.0892–$0.0933. Meanwhile, the 20-day and 50-day averages near $0.0919 and $0.0907 remain above price, while the chart’s all-time low stood around $0.0626.

WLFI, meanwhile, traded near $0.047, having broken below the $0.0506–$0.0522 flip zone. Recovery would first require reclaiming that band, followed by $0.0565–$0.0585 resistance. Its 20-day average stood around $0.0550, beneath the 50-day average near $0.0586. TradingView marked its all-time low at $0.0454.
Bitcoin and Ethereum Hold Stronger Technical Positions
Bitcoin showed a firmer weekly setup by comparison. BTC traded around $80,481, above its 50-week moving average at $75,648 and 200-week average near $67,789. Its position above both weekly averages contrasts with WLFI’s weaker short-term moving-average structure.

However, resistance stood between $83,822 and $87,395, while nearby support was $74,968. A deeper support region extended from $57,800 to $62,751. Ethereum’s weekly picture was more mixed.
Trading near $2,419, ETH held above its 50-week average around $2,307 but remained below the 200-week average near $2,559. Support stood at $2,174, followed by $1,853 and a broader zone between $1,385 and $1,571. Resistance, on the other hand, appeared near $2,807, then $3,402.

Together, the charts showed stronger relative price performance for Bitcoin and Ethereum during this period. Nevertheless, they could not confirm that investors had shifted capital directly from political tokens into either asset.
