The July US Consumer Price Index (CPI) is out and matched user expectations by rising 0.1%. The released figure has eased inflation concerns and triggered an upward push in top cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin rose 0.6% to $64,051 shortly after the July CPI data was released, while Ethereum gained 1.5% to reach $1,909 within the same period. Similarly, Solana added 0.8%, and XRP rose 0.2%, easing bearish pressure.
Crypto Rally Key Drivers
Although the crypto market’s bounce occurred after the US CPI release, analysts say institutional money flowing into crypto ETFs, alongside growing adoption of blockchain-based settlement systems, remains the key drivers behind the bullish nudge.
CoinGlass data shows that the crypto ETF market showed an inflow trend on Tuesday, August 11, totaling a net Inflow of $6.1 million. Over the past five trading days, crypto ETFs saw a total inflow of over $547 million, indicating that institutional sentiment is leaning toward accumulation under the current market environment.
After a positive CPI report, which generally signals cooling inflation, cryptocurrency users believe the trading environment is changing and beginning to favor risk assets. Their focus is turning to the main factors that could drive the next phase of crypto price evolution, including;
Federal Reserve Policy
Favorable inflation data typically causes the market to recalibrate its expectations for the Fed’s interest rate decisions. Crypto is highly sensitive to the cost of capital, and a dovish pivot reduces the yield on “risk-free” assets such as US Treasuries, pushing capital toward higher-growth assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
ETF Flows
ETF flows represent the liquidity engine for the crypto market, particularly in the short to medium-term. Institutional capital flows have become a dominant driver of crypto price action since the approval of spot ETFs. It often decouples crypto assets from traditional retail sentiment.
Monitoring daily net flows into major spot ETFs could provide crypto users with a valid signal for potential price direction. Typically, a positive CPI reading often triggers a “risk-on” sentiment shift that shows up in ETF inflows within 24–48 hours.
Blockchain Adoption
Actual network utility remains the backbone for long-term asset valuation, even though macro and flows drive price swings. It is worth noting that investors are increasingly differentiating between speculative tokens and those with sustainable revenue, clear use cases, and growing active-user bases. Therefore, crypto users would typically track on-chain metrics such as daily active addresses, transaction volume, and total value locked (TVL) after positive macro reports.
