- Aviva’s £50M tokenized share class sits within a £22B fund, not £22B in tokens.
- XRP futures turnover reached $2.25B, nearly 5.8 times the $389.04M spot volume.
- XRP remains below the $1.3269 resistance as its 30-day Bitcoin correlation stands at 0.94.
XRP traded near $1.32 on October 27 after Aviva Investors committed £50 million to a tokenized sterling share class. Although the launch expanded XRPL adoption, it did not confirm a daily breakout. Meanwhile, futures turnover exceeded spot activity, highlighting why tokenization does not necessarily generate equivalent XRP purchases.
Aviva’s £50M Fund Activity Leaves £22B Portfolio Intact
Aviva introduced the share class on October 26 within its approximately £22 billion Sterling Liquidity Fund. However, that figure represents existing fund assets, not tokenized issuance. The £50 million commitment also brought combined investments across both tokenized share classes above £86 million.
Under the Ireland-domiciled fund’s digital-twin model, investor holdings appear on XRPL, while BNY Mellon safeguards underlying assets. Meanwhile, Komainu and Licuido support custody and tokenization.
An October 26 XRPL review identified 50.05 million sterling tokens across approved wallets. However, these tokens cannot circulate freely or access XRPL’s native exchange. Therefore, verified issuance does not establish external subscriptions or corresponding XRP purchases.
XRPL’s 1.8M Daily Transactions Do Not Confirm XRP Demand
Meanwhile, a standard XRPL transaction costs 0.00001 XRP, excluding account and ledger reserves. Consequently, tokenizing large fund holdings does not generate equivalent native-token demand. According to XRPscan, the network recorded 1,808,827 daily transactions and 1,373 activated accounts.

Over 30 days, activity totaled 75,758,377 transactions and 91,714 account activations. However, these network-wide figures cannot identify transactions linked to Aviva’s fund or establish XRP accumulation. Moreover, fund tokens represent money market holdings rather than automatic ownership of the ledger’s native asset.
Although account reserves require XRP balances, the supplied figures do not quantify purchases arising from institutional subscriptions. Therefore, spot volume remains a separate measure of market participation, while transaction counts alone cannot confirm sustained buying.
XRP Futures Turnover Tops Spot Activity by 5.8 Times
CoinGlass recorded $2.25 billion in daily futures turnover against $389.04 million in spot volume. However, the 5.8-fold difference shows activity rather than price direction. Derivatives open interest reached approximately $3.01 billion, while funding stood at +0.0097%, indicating modest long-side positioning.

Meanwhile, liquidations totaled $1.38 million, comprising $545,947 in longs and $848,767 in shorts. Neither these liquidations nor positive funding confirmed a decisive directional shift. TradingView also showed open interest below its 2025 peaks above $4 billion, leaving sustained spot accumulation unverified.
XRP Faces $1.3269 as 0.94 Bitcoin Correlation Persists
Against this derivatives backdrop, TradingView’s four-hour chart showed XRP near $1.3203 after rebounding from Monday’s $1.2732 low and moving above $1.3126. However, the intraday candle remained open, so a closing breakout was unconfirmed.

Although Monday’s low exceeded October’s $1.2546 trough, higher daily resistance remained intact. The next upside levels stood at $1.3269, $1.3440, and $1.3558. Conversely, slipping below $1.3126 would bring $1.2911 and $1.2732 into focus.
Separately, Gale Finance reported a 0.94 rolling 30-day correlation with Bitcoin, indicating strong co-movement without proving causation. Thus, despite Aviva’s tokenization launch, stronger spot participation and higher-timeframe confirmation remain unverified.
