  • The South Korean Foreign Ministry to invalidate Terra Founder Do Kwon.
  • The government published a public notice due to the “inability to deliver” the passport return order.
  • The Singapore government was unable to locate Kwon.

The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a public notice on their website on October 5, announcing that the Terra Founder Do Kwon has 14 days to return his passport. Failing to do so would result in the South Korean government invalidating Kwon’s passport.

Apparently, the South Korean Foreign Ministry had been considering this a month prior to actioning it. Moreover, the announcement being posted publicly was a result of the “inability to deliver” the passport return order.

In addition to the notice, the South Korean government further attached a PDF document highlighting in detail that the Ministry would not entertain Kwon applying for another passport renewal.

The notice read, “Our Department would like to send a ‘Notice of Order for Return of Passport’ to you by registered mail, we inform you that the validity of your passports will be invalidated and administratively invalidated.”

Meanwhile, local media news outlets informed that South Korean prosecutors ordered the freezing of about $40 million worth of crypto assets associated with Kwon. To which the Terra Founder denied ownership of the funds via a tweet.

Continuing his trail of tweets, he has also contradicted the Korean officials’ statements, denying rumors about him being “on the run,” and his inability to find an Interpol “Red Notice” that prosecutors told reporters was issued on the intergovernmental police agency’s website.

However, when the South Korean government issued an arrest warrant, Singapore officials stated that they were unable to locate Kwon’s location.
