- Trump claimed inflation is falling and incomes are rising, despite hotter September CPI and PPI data.
- US annual CPI climbed to 3.7%, while monthly producer prices rose 1.3% in September.
- Trump’s economic optimism could support short-term demand for Bitcoin and US stocks.
President Donald Trump says inflation is falling and incomes are climbing, a message that could lift short-term demand for Bitcoin and US stocks.
Official September data tells a different story, with consumer and producer prices both running hotter. The gap between optimism and the numbers may decide how long any rally lasts.
Trump Claims Inflation Is Falling as CPI and PPI Climb
On October 30, Trump said inflation has dropped, and income for people and companies is way up.

Data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics does not back the inflation claim. Annual CPI rose to 3.7% in September from 3.4% in August, and monthly prices spiked 0.6%. Core CPI, which strips out food and energy, rose to 2.6%.
Producer prices ran even higher. Final demand PPI rose 1.3% in September, the largest monthly gain since March 2022, pushing the annual rate to 6.3%.
The claim about rising incomes also requires context. An October 21 FactCheck review found that inflation-adjusted weekly earnings increased by just 0.94% during Trump’s first 20 months in office. The figure suggests modest growth in workers’ purchasing power, with some earlier gains partly reversed in recent months.

Could Trump’s Economic Optimism Fuel a Bitcoin and Stock Market Rally?
Markets often trade on expectations before the data catches up. If investors buy into Trump’s upbeat view, growth stocks and the Nasdaq could see fresh demand.
A rally built on messaging alone has limits, though. If upcoming reports confirm sticky inflation, Treasury yields and the dollar could climb, and that pressure tends to hit volatile assets like BTC and altcoins first.
Trump’s comments may give traders a short-lived lift. Turning that into a sustained Bitcoin and stock market rally will take cooler CPI readings, easing Treasury yields, and a clearer path to Fed rate cuts.
