  • Bitcoin jumped 10% to $85,398.14 this week as ETF inflows neared $999 million.

The global crypto market cap jumped 4.0% to $3.01 trillion over the past 24 hours. Bitcoin traded at $85,398.14, up 4.9% on the day and up 10.0% over the past week, after breaking above $87,000 intraday. Ethereum changed hands at $2,727.81, up 2.4% in 24 hours and up 9.2% over seven days, having broken above $2,800 during the rally.

BNB rose 1.3% to $787.04, up 9.1% weekly. XRP jumped 6.2% to $1.51, up 6.8% over the week. Solana gained 4.3% to $116.39, up a sharp 14.6% over seven days. Zcash rose 3.4% to $1,464.83, still up 28.4% over the week.

The rally caught short sellers offside. Total crypto liquidations reached $926 million in the 24 hours to Monday evening, according to CoinGlass, with short liquidations accounting for $785 million against just $142 million in longs. BTC liquidations totaled $509 million and ETH liquidations $198 million, with the largest single order a $11.30 million position on Binance’s BTCUSDT pair. 

Firo led trending searches, up 3.6% to $1.18. Pepe followed, up 23.5%, and NEAR Protocol was down 2.9% to $4.27. Among top gainers, True surged 980.2% to $0.19799, musebook climbed 266.2% to $0.0002028, and Aurora rose 129.7% to $0.04823.

ETF Flows

Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded $999 million in net inflows, the third consecutive day of inflows, according to SoSoValue data. BlackRock’s IBIT led with $381 million, followed by Ark Invest and 21Shares’ ARKB at $289 million. 

Ethereum spot ETFs added $270 million, with BlackRock’s ETHA taking in $110 million and Fidelity’s FETH adding $72.96 million. SOL spot ETFs saw $26.10 million in inflows, led by the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF at $14.44 million, while HYPE spot ETFs added $2.82 million.

Institutional Bitcoin and Ethereum Buying

Strategy purchased 950 BTC at an average price of $79,670 over the past week, its first purchase in two weeks, bringing total holdings to 846,000 BTC. According to on-chain analyst Yu Jin, the position’s unrealized profit swung from a $13.262 billion loss less than three months ago to an $8.209 billion gain at current prices. 

BitMine added 27,562 ETH over the past week, lifting holdings to 5,983,940 ETH, with Chairman Tom Lee saying the company has completed 98% of its goal to hold 5% of Ethereum’s total supply. DeFi Development Corp increased its SOL holdings by 101,381 tokens to roughly 2.49 million.

AI Sector Rally

The AI crypto sector rose 9.66% in 24 hours, according to SoSoValue, with Bittensor up 18.97%, Fetch.ai up 14.01%, and Akedo up 13.63%. Bittensor’s ecosystem has reportedly entered a “revenue era,” with 24 to 25 subnets now generating commercial revenue and annual ecosystem revenue estimated between $28 million and $35 million, according to the Subnet Summer research group.

U.S. federal prosecutors led by the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office are investigating whether Binance violated U.S. sanctions against Iran by failing to block certain platform transactions.

The SEC’s Crypto Task Force chief legal advisor Taylor Lindman said the first tokenized stock trading platforms operating under the SEC’s new innovation exemption could announce operational plans as early as next quarter. 

Crypto super PAC Fairshake committed $30 million to oppose former Senator Sherrod Brown’s Ohio Senate campaign, its largest single-candidate expenditure of the 2026 midterm cycle.

Whale Activity

Machi Big Brother’s trading account rebounded from $800,000 to $10 million overnight as the market rallied, with unrealized gains exceeding $5.14 million across BTC, ETH, and HYPE long positions worth $126 million. 

The “Garrett Jin whale entity” closed a 1,333 BTC long position for an $8.38 million profit after three days, having earlier stopped out of a ZEC short at a $35.44 million loss; it then briefly opened and closed a new 500 BTC short near the top for an $80,000 gain.
