Bitget Plans to Launch Trading Platform in Thailand

GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics operates a licensed crypto exchange and brokerage in Thailand. Acquiring the company would give Bitget a local presence and help it understand the Thai market.

Once the deal is completed and regulatory approval is granted, Bitget plans to launch its trading platform for users in Thailand. The move would bring Bitget’s trading services to the local market while complying with Thai regulations.

Bitget Plans to Expand Across Southeast Asia

Bitget is exploring more expansion opportunities across Southeast Asia as demand for digital financial services grows and regulations evolve. The exchange says it aims to establish local operating capabilities in each market to meet jurisdiction-specific requirements and support long-term participation.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said understanding local markets and regulations is key to building a strong presence in new countries. She described Thailand as an important part of Southeast Asia’s digital asset landscape, adding that the acquisition would give Bitget an opportunity to establish local operations while bringing its global experience and capabilities to the country.

“Thailand is an important part of Southeast Asia’s digital asset landscape, and this acquisition gives us a great opportunity to establish local operations in a thriving country,” Chen said.

She added that Bitget’s priority is to develop the right operational foundation while bringing its global experience and capabilities to the Thai market.

Notably, Bitget serves over 125 million users and offers access to more than 2 million crypto tokens, over 500 tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities, foreign exchange, and precious metals such as gold.

The exchange also promotes crypto adoption through partnerships such as MotoGP™ and works with UNICEF on blockchain education initiatives targeting 1.1 million people by 2027.
